FAQ’s

  • Not permanent at all. Although it does require some effort to install and uninstall the module it is by no means a permanent fixture in the van—so if you’re a tradesperson or don’t wish to use your van as a camper all year round then the module can be removed and stored in your garage until your next holiday.

  • We typically hold stock of the units flat-packed and ready to assemble so lead time is 3-5 business days from payment.

  • The power supply isn’t included with the module as typically people prefer to run their own set ups. We supply a 12V 15 amp cable wired to the switch panel, you can either wire this to a battery in your vehicle or an existing solar set up.

  • We recommend buying a backup 25L water tank for longer stays where you won’t have access to water. Curtains/ mosquito nets are essential to keep the van cool in summer and allow plenty of ventilation.

Having a fire extinguisher and first aid kit is important to have on hand in an emergency.

Finally, make sure you have plenty of power to run the fridge and other accessories, this could be charged using a solar system or alternatively a lithium ion battery which charges using the vehicle's alternator. If you wish to charge appliances which require 240V then an inverter is required to step up the voltage from 12V to 240V.

  • Just the overall functionality of the module—simple things like being able to use the kitchen or access the drawers whilst the bed is still in its made position has proven to be handy!

  • Ready Camper has been carefully designed and developed by Cameron Holder (industrial designer and CNC master) of Secandi and Andrew Turney (model maker and workshop wizard) of Gyro Constructivists.

We typically do contract CNC machining for a variety of industries. Having also done the odd cabinet-making job here and there, we figured this would be an interesting challenge to explore how we can utilise the CNC machine to create a product which makes the most out of such a small space?

As we delved into our market research we noticed there weren’t many products that could be easily fitted into a van and many existing designs were for specific van models limiting people’s choices when it came to purchasing a van. Seeing as people are so time poor now, we wanted to take the hassle out of fitting out a van so they can get on the road and start enjoying their holiday.
